Dear Friends of BRSYSA,
We are all disappointed about how the spring season turned out, but we are looking forward to when the girls can get back on the field.
With the future in mind, we are writing to you today regarding three important topics:
First, the annual board elections are scheduled for the June league meeting, set for Tuesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.
The league is run entirely by volunteers with the goal of providing the girls in the community an opportunity to play the great game of softball with their friends. Volunteering to help out on the Board will help keep the league running smoothly.
The board positions that will be open and need to be filled beginning in August are:
Serving on the board is a great way to give back to your community and to make new friends. There are also many other volunteer opportunities in addition to the elected board positions.
Please contact a board member if you are interested in any of the positions or with any questions. Their contact information can be found at:
Second, we are holding out some hope that BRSYSA will be able to field teams during the summer for a tournament or two, or a "mini season" later in the summer.
We're asking families to indicate whether their daughter may be interested in summer softball activities if health conditions and our local officials allow for it by filling out this form:
Filling out the form is not a commitment on your part; it will simply let us know which families may be interested in summer games or other activities.
Third, we are in the planning phases of hosting BRSYSA-sponsored day camps this summer.
We would only move forward with the approval of the City of Belmont (for the use of fields) and in compliance with all local health orders.
Please indicate on the Summer Interest form whether you are interested in the possibility of your daughter participating in small-group summer camps led by a local professional coach.
Please help us continue to provide the girls in the community the opportunity to play softball and to keep the league strong. Look for a Zoom link to participate in the June 9th board meeting in the coming weeks.

The mission of the Belmont Redwood Shores Youth Softball Association (BRSYSA) is to teach young girls (ages 5 - 14) the skills and knowledge necessary to play the great game of softball. To that end, the League will provide, to the best of its ability, the equipment, uniforms, playing facilities, team managing and coaching staffs, and league organization. BRSYSA welcomes all players of all skill levels.
Simply put, BRSYSA strives to provide a fun and safe environment for our young girls:
• to have fun learning to play softball
• to meet new friends and to play with old friends
• to develop physical and mental skills and abilities
• to learn to win and to lose graciously
• to learn to play a game with specific rules
• to learn sportsmanship
• to learn how to play with others as part of a team
• to learn to respect the judgment of others
• to enjoy the game and appreciate their managers and coaches
• to feel good about themselves
• and most of all, to HAVE FUN!!!!!
